The Sure Reality!

What is the Sure Reality?

adraka ma Al-Hāqqah

And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is?

kazzabat thamudu Waadu Bil-ka-ree-ah-ti

The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity!

fa-amma thamudu Fa'uhlikoo Bil-taghiyati

But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning!

wa amma ad Fa'uhlikoo Bireyh sarsar Atiyah

And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent;

sakh-kha-ra-ha alayhim sab'a Layal wasamania ayyamin Husuman fatara Al-qaum feeha sari'a ka'annahum A'jazu nakhlin Khaviyah

He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down!

fahal Tara baqiyah

Then seest thou any of them left surviving?

wajaa Pharaoh Vaman qibla hoo Wal moo'tafikaat bil ha-tee-ah

And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin.

fa'asau rasool Rabbihim fa-akhathum akh-thah Rabiyah

And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty.

Lama tagā Al-Maa hamelnakum fay Al-ja-ree-ah

We, when the water (of Noah's Flood) overflowed beyond its limits, carried you (mankind), in the floating (Ark),

le-naj-alaha lakum Watiehah uthun and faith eyyah

That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance.

feidha noo-fay-kha fay As-Soori Nafkha and faith heda

Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet,

wa-hoo-mi-le-ti Al-ard Wal-jibalu fadookata Dakka and faith

And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,-

fayawmeez waqati Al-Waqi'ah

On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass.

wanshiqqati As-samaa fahiya yawma'ithin vāhiyah

And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy,

Wal malak Arjaa'iha vaiyahmilu Arsh Rab-bik faukahum yawma'ithin thamania

And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them.

yawma'ithin too'razoon takhfa minkum hafiya

That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden.

fa-amma ootiya kitabahoo Byaminehi fayaqoolu ha-oom Iqra kitabia

Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record!

Innee zanantu annie Mulaakin hisabiya

"I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!"

fahuwa fay eeshatin Raziya

And he will be in a life of Bliss,

fay Jannah aaliya

In a Garden on high,

kutoofoo-ha Daniyah

The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near.

kulu washrooboo Hania asleftum fay Al-ayyami Al Khalīyati

"Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!"

wa amma ootiya kitabahoo Bishmalehi fayaqoolu Yal-yetani lam oota kitabia

And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me!

wa lam Adri ma hisabiya

"And that I had never realised how my account (stood)!

Yalyatha kanat Al-Qadiyah

"Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me!

aghna Annie Maliya

"Of no profit to me has been my wealth!

halaka Annie Sultaniyah

"My power has perished from me!"...

Khuzoohoo Faghulluhu

(The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him,

thumma Al-Jaheem salluhu

"And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire.

thumma fay silsila zareuha sab'una dhiraan Faslukuhu

"Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits!

Innahu kana yoo-mee-noo Billahi Al-Adheem

"This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High.

yahuthth Ala taami Al-Miskeen

"And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent!

falaysa Lahoo Al-yawma hahuna hameem

"So no friend hath he here this Day.

taam illa Ghislīn

"Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds,

la ya'kooloohoo illa Al-khateoon

"Which none do eat but those in sin."

Uqsimu bima tubsirun

So I do call to witness what ye see,

vama tubsirun

And what ye see not,

Innahu laqoul Kareem

That this is verily the word of an honoured messenger;

vama hu bekoli sha'ir kaleelan maa tu'minoona

It is not the word of a poet: little it is ye believe!

bekoli kahin kaleelan maa tazakkaroona

Nor is it the word of a soothsayer: little admonition it is ye receive.

Tanzil min Rabbee Al-aleemin

(This is) a Message sent down from the Lord of the Worlds.

velau taqawwala alayna bas Al-aqa-weel

And if the messenger were to invent any sayings in Our name,

la'akhadhna minhu Bil-yameen

We should certainly seize him by his right hand,

thumma laqata'na minhu Al-wateena

And We should certainly then cut off the artery of his heart:

fama Ahadin anhu Hajizeena

Nor could any of you withhold him (from Our wrath).

Wa innahu Lathazkirah Lilmuttaqeen

But verily this is a Message for the Allah-fearing.

wa-inna lena'lmu anna mukazzibeen

And We certainly know that there are amongst you those that reject (it).

Wa innahu lahasratun alay Al-Kafireen

But truly (Revelation) is a cause of sorrow for the Unbelievers.

Wa innahu lahak Al-Yaqīni

But verily it is Truth of assured certainty.

fasabbih besmi Rab-bik Al-Adheem

So glorify the name of thy Lord Most High.
