Bismi Allah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem

    Wal-naziat ghark

    By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence;

    Wal-nashee-tat neshtan

    By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed);

    Wal-saabihat sabhan

    And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy),

    Falsabiqati sabkan

    Then press forward as in a race,

    Fal mudabbir faith te amran

    Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord),

    yaum tarjufu Ar-raji-fah

    One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion,

    tet-beau-ha Ar-radifatu

    Followed by oft-repeated (commotions):

    quloob yawma'ithin wajifa

    Hearts that Day will be in agitation;

    absaruhā khashi'ah

    Cast down will be (their owners') eyes.

    yaquloon A inna l-mar-doo-oo-doon fay Al-Hafira

    They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state?

    a-ee-tha kunna izaman Nakhirah

    "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?"

    telka eeza karrah hasiratun

    They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!"

    Fa-innama heya zajgrah and faith heda

    But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry,

    feidha Belsahira

    When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment).

    hel Atiaka Hadith Musa

    Has the story of Moses reached thee?

    ith nadiahu Rabbuhu bil-vadi Al-Muqaddasi too-wah

    Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:-

    iz'hab ila Fir'awn Innahu Tagha

    "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds:

    Fakul laka an tazakka

    "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?-

    Wahdeeka ila Rab-bik fatahsha

    "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'"

    Faarja Al-ayah Al-Kubra

    Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign.

    fakazza wa-aaasaa

    But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance);

    thumma adbar Yas'a

    Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah).

    fahashara fanada

    Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation,

    fakala ana Rabbukumu Al A'la

    Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High".

    fa-a-ha-dhu Allah nakala Al-akhirati

    But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life.

    Inna fay dha faith leka laibra limen

    Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah).

    a-antum a-shed-doo khalkan ami ban-yah-ha

    What! Are ye the more difficult to create or the heaven (above)? (Allah) hath constructed it:

    rafa samkaha Fasawwaha

    On high hath He raised its canopy, and He hath given it order and perfection.

    Wa-aghtash lailaha waakhraja duhaha

    Its night doth He endow with darkness, and its splendour doth He bring out (with light).

    Wal-ard ba'da dha faith leka dahaha

    And the earth, moreover, hath He extended (to a wide expanse);

    akh-ra-ja minha maaha wamaraha

    He draweth out therefrom its moisture and its pasture;

    Wal-jibaala arsaaha

    And the mountains hath He firmly fixed;-

    matan lakum Wale-anamikum

    For use and convenience to you and your cattle.

    feidha jaat At-tammah Al-Kubra

    Therefore, when there comes the great, overwhelming (Event),-

    yaum yatazakkaru Al-insan ma Sa'a

    The Day when man shall remember (all) that he strove for,

    waburrizat Al-Jaheem Yara

    And Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for (all) to see,-

    fa-amma man Tagha

    Then, for such as had transgressed all bounds,

    waathara Al-hayah Dunya

    And had preferred the life of this world,

    Fainna Al-Jaheem heya Al-Ma'wa

    The Abode will be Hell-Fire;

    wa amma haf maqam Wanaha an-nafsa ane Al-hawa

    And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their Lord's (tribunal) and had restrained (their) soul from lower desires,

    Fainna Al Jannah heya Al-Ma'wa

    Their abode will be the Garden.

    yas'aloonaka ane As-sa'ah ayyan Mursaha

    They ask thee about the Hour,-'When will be its appointed time?

    Fayma anta min Zikriaha

    Wherein art thou (concerned) with the declaration thereof?

    ila Rab-bik Muntahāhā

    With thy Lord in the Limit fixed therefor.

    Innama anta munziru man yakhshaha

    Thou art but a Warner for such as fear it.

    ka'annahum yaum jarona lam yalbathua illa ashiyya ow duhaha

    The Day they see it, (It will be) as if they had tarried but a single evening, or (at most till) the following morn!
