Al-Infiṭār

eeza As-samaa Infatarat

When the Sky is cleft asunder;

wa iza Al-kawakibu intatharat

When the Stars are scattered;

wa iza al-bihaaru fujjirat

When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth;

wa iza Al-Qubooru boo-thi-rat

And when the Graves are turned upside down;-

alimat maa qaddamat Wa akh-kha-rat

(Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back.

Ya ayyuha Al-insan ma gharrak birabbik Al-Kareemi

O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord Most Beneficent?-

al-ladhee Halaqaka Fasawaa fadalka

Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias;

Ay-yi soorah maa shaa Rakabaka

In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together.

too-kath-thi-boon Beldin

Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment!

wa inna alaykum Lahafizeen

But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,-

kiramen katibeen

Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds):

yaalamoona ma taf'aloona

They know (and understand) all that ye do.

Inna Al-abrar Lafee Na'eem

As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss;

wa inna Al-Fujjar Lafee Jaheem

And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire,

yaslow-naha yaum ad-Deen

Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment,

vama hum anha Begayiebien

And they will not be able to keep away therefrom.

adraka ma yaum ad-Deen

And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is?

thumma adraka ma yaum ad-Deen

Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is?

yaum tamlik Linnafs shay'an Wal-amru yawma'ithin Lillahi

(It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah.
