Al-Burooj

Wes-samaa zat Al-burooj

By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs;

Wal-yawmi Al-Maw'oodi

By the promised Day (of Judgment);

Washahin Vamashhoodin

By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;-

kootila Ashabu Al-ukhdood

Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire),

An-nar zat al waqoodi

Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel:

ith hum alayha qud

Behold! they sat over against the (fire),

Wahum Ala ma yaf'aloon bil-moo-mee-neen shuhood

And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers.

vama naqamoo minhum an yoo'minoo Billahi Al-Azeez Al-Hameed

And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!-

al-ladhee Mulk As-samawa faith te Wallahu Ala kulli shay shaheed

Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things.

Inna Alladheena fatanoo Al-mu'minin Wal mu'minat thumma lam yatooboo falahum azaabu Jahannam wa-la-hum azaabu Al Hareek

Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire.

Inna Alladheena amenua wa amiloo As-sālihāti lahum jannat tajree min tahtiha dha faith leka Al-fawzu Al-Kabeer

For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires),

Inna batsh Rab-bik Lashedidun

Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord.

Innahu hu yubdioo wa-yoo-ee-doo

It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life).

Wahuwah Al-Ghafoor Al-Wadood

And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness,

zu Al-Arsh Al-Majeed

Lord of the Throne of Glory,

fa'al lima yoo-ree-doo

Doer (without let) of all that He intends.

hel Atiaka Hadith al-junood

Has the story reached thee, of the forces-

Fir'awn thamuda

Of Pharaoh and the Thamud?

bele Alladheena kafaroo fay takzhibin

And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)!

Wallahu min veraajihim muheet

But Allah doth encompass them from behind!

hu Quran Majeed

Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an,

fay Lawh mah-fooz

(Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved!
